The Big Bang theory is the prevailing cosmological model describing the universe’s evolution from an extremely small, hot, and dense state to its current, expanding state.

The evolution of transformation happening at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny is likened to the Big Bang where development has been taken from the precipice to a skyline of repute.

On Friday May 9th and Saturday 10th, 2025, a team of assessors from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) visited the Polytechnic on resource assessment to ascertain the viability for accreditation of courses requested for by the Institution. At the end of the exercise, the team was overwhelmingly impressed by the state of the art equipment available and the preparedness of the Polytechnic to meet her mandate.

Fourteen (14) more courses were accredited to commence programs at the Polytechnic. The courses are:

2. Microbiology.

3. Physics Electronics.

4. Chemistry.

5. Environmental Biology.

6. Maritime Transport and Logistics.

7. Public Administration.

8. Business Administration and Management.

9. Electronics and Telecommunication.

10. Power and Machines.

1. Accountancy.

2. Mechanical Engineering Technology.

3. Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology.

4. Petroleum and Gas Engineering Technology.

The Polytechnic has witnessed an unprecedented progress in quantum leaps and bounds to the admiration of individuals and organizations across the globe all because a purposeful leader emerged in Dr Victor Okolobah.

The institution will now certainly become a breeding ground not just for Diplomas but for Skills, Entrepreneurship and Scientific Discoveries. The wheels of positive change are grinding speedily towards the accomplishment of a World-class Citadel of learning.

Anything is indeed possible with a visionary and purposeful leadership in place and the Polytechnic has one now.
