        This is achieved with the help of the approved guidelines from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, National Boar for Technical Education (NBTE) Federal Ministry of Education and the Polytechnic Academic Board Respectively.

Admission Requirements
ND Programs

Prospective Students for National Diploma Programs are expected to have credits in Mathematics and English Language and three other subjects relevant to their proposed programs as approved by the regulating body with JAMB minimum score approved for the academic year, with other documents like JAMB admission Letter, Local Government Identification Letter, Attestation Letter, Affidavit of good conduct, Medical Report, Birth Certification amongst others.

HND Programs

While prospective students for Higher National Diploma program, are to present their National Diploma Certificate with at least a lower credit, their transcript , Jamb admission letter for their National Diploma program, Olevel Certificate, Local Government Identification Letter, Attestation Letter, and Affidavit of good conduct, Medical Report, Birth Certificate etc.

HND Programs

While prospective students for Higher National Diploma program, are to present their National Diploma Certificate with at least a lower credit, their transcript , Jamb admission letter for their National Diploma program, Olevel Certificate, Local Government Identification Letter, Attestation Letter, and Affidavit of good conduct, Medical Report, Birth Certificate etc.

Online Registration procedures for Freshers and returning students

The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, follows a structured e-portal registration procedure for its students. Follow the guidelines to complete your registration process.

General E-Portal Registration Procedure for Returning Students:

1. Visit the ICT Centre

  • Visit the ICT centre located at the School of Applied Science block for MIS registration and documentation.
  • Pick and fill out the MIS form at the ICT Centre.
  • For the registration, come along with a NIN printout, an admission letter (photocopy), a JAMB printout (photocopy), and a passport.

2. Visit the official Polytechnic website/portal:

  • Access your student dashboard.
  • Complete your profile by filling in all required personal and academic details.
  • Upload scanned copies of necessary documents. This commonly includes:
    • Recent passport photograph (ensure it meets specifications, e.g., size, format).
    • JAMB Admission Letter.
    • JAMB Result Slip
    • O'Level Result(s) (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB)—original or statement of result
    • Birth Certificate or Statutory Declaration of Age.
    • Local Government Identification Letter.
    • Attestation Letter (from a clergyman, senior civil servant, or traditional ruler).
    • National Diploma Certificate and Transcript (for HND students)
    • Industrial Training (IT) Letter of Completion (for HND students)

3. Admission Status:

  • If admission is approved.

4. Acceptance Fee Payment (for New Students):

  • After creating your account or logging in, as a new student, you will be required to pay an acceptance fee.
  • Generate an invoice with a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code from the portal.
  • Take this RRR to any commercial bank for payment or pay online through the Remita platform.
  • Return to the portal after payment to generate and print your acceptance fee receipt using the RRR code.
  • Print your Admission letter.

5. School Fee Payment (for New Students):

  • After creating your account or logging in, as a new student, you will be required to pay an acceptance fee.
  • Generate an invoice with a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code from the portal.
  • Take this RRR to any commercial bank for payment or pay online through the Remita platform.
  • Return to the portal after payment to generate and print your acceptance fee receipt using the RRR code.

6 Course Registration:

  • Once your profile is complete and payments are confirmed, you should be able to proceed with course registration.
  • Select the courses for your current semester as guided by your department or school.

7. Print Documents:After successful registration, ensure you print out all necessary documents, such as

  • Course registration form
  • Admission letter (if not already printed)
  • Payment receipts
  • Examination Card.
  • And any other required clearance forms..
