Mr. Hosea Yakubu, born on 10th October 1974, is a distinguished mathematician and educator with an illustrious career spanning over two decades. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1998 and further advanced his academic credentials by obtaining a Master of Mathematics in 2023. Mr. Yakubu holds the esteemed position of being the pioneer mathematician at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny Island, Rivers State, where he has played a pivotal role in establishing, nurturing and teaching the pioneer students of the School of Engineering Technology (Department of Electrical Engineering Technology and Department of Industrial Safety and Environmental Engineering Technology) , school of applied sciences (Department of Computer Science and Department of Statistics), school of business and management studies (Department of Petroleum Marketing and Business Studies), all the mathematics courses.
With 22 years of teaching experience, Mr. Yakubu has dedicated his career to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics among his students. His research interests lie in the field of Mathematical Modelling, where he has contributed significantly through his innovative approaches and insightful research.
Mr. Yakubu has actively engaged with the broader academic community, attending both national and international conferences. He has also presented academic papers at the Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN) annual national conference in 2021, the Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN) 2011, and the International Research and Development Institute (IRDI) 2006 and 2007. Additionally, he is a member of the prestigious Nigerian Mathematical Society (NMS) and London Mathematical Society (LMS), reflecting his national and international recognition and involvement in the global mathematical community.
