The office of the Bursar for the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, is held by Mr Mohammed Idris, an experienced Accountant, and a graduate of the prestigious First-Generation Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna from which he bagged his Higher National Diploma in Accountancy (1995). A man reputed for few words and achieving more positive results than his peers can boast of. Mr Mohammed Idris was engaged as the Bursar and Chief Financial Officer of the polytechnic in August, 2020 following an outstanding performance in the selection processes.
His work experience is both diverse and wealthy – covering decades, and in diverse localities. He is widely travelled, and has a good number of sound and laudable works to his credits. His astute works and relentless efforts to put FPOG on the global record have put him in a class high above his contemporaries. He is philanthropic, goodnatured, modest and operates an open-door policy which has endeared him to everyone who come across him.
As the head of the Accounting Department of the Polytechnic, the Bursar has overall responsibility, under the Rector, for the handling of all financial matters in the Polytechnic. He is also responsible for the coordination of staff emoluments/claims and also facilitate the collection of the Internally Generated Revenue of the Polytechnic. The Bursar, as the Sub-Accounting Officer of the Polytechnic, supervises the activities of the Divisions which handle all financial matters of the Polytechnic in order to achieve a seamless day-to-day financial activities of the Polytechnic.
