Governing Councils act as the highest decision-making authority for an institution, responsible for setting strategic direction, approving budgets, and ensuring financial compliance. Its primary functions include overseeing institutional policies, appointing senior leadership, managing assets, and fostering community relationships to support the organization\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, was established by Act of Parliament in 2013 and took effect from June 28th, 2014 under the Administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and has come a long way with four (4) Governing Councils since inception.<\/p>\n

First Governing Council: The first Governing Council was inaugurated on the 5th of May, 2015 with following membership.
1. Gen. Ishaya Rizi Bamaiyi Rtd Chairman.
2. Prof. Elijah Tamuno Iyagba Rector\/Member
3. Chief Peter Ojonugwu Ameh Member
4. Chief\/Barr Godson Okoye Member
5. Dr. Barr. Dennis Ude Kumankama, MFR
6. Princess Goziem Ugochukwu Onuoha Member
7. Dr Mrs Efue-Ejikeme P.O Member
8. Chief Tunde Gafar Member
9. Amaopusenibo Prof. Sir Edward O. Banigo Member

Second Governing Council: The second Governing Council was inaugurated on the 11th of May, 2017 and has the following Membership.
