The 100-days mark in office is a common milestone used to evaluate a leader’s earlier performance and track his\/her Policy Initiatives. It is a period where initial priorities and actions are often assessed and analyzed with the aim of gagging the leader’s performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key aspects of the 100 days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Early Priorities:*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 100-days period provides an opportunity to see how a new leader prioritizes issues and implements their promises. In this area, Dr Okolobah did well in prioritizing Staff Welfare by;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Awards for long service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Staff Club and Canteen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Sent out papers\/staff for moderation for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Paid Responsibility Allowances to HODs\/Deans\/Directors for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Public Opinion:*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public opinion and Media scrutiny are often heightened during this period, with analyses of the leader’s performance and the impact of their policies. Here also, Dr Okolobah attracted several awards of Excellence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. The KWAME NKRUMAH AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The School of Engineering Award for Purposeful Leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. The Local Government recognized his performance and called for partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Leadership Style:*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 100-days mark can offer insights into a Leader’s Communication Style, Decision-Making Process, and approach to governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Okolobah’s ability to communicate Vision and Purpose led to several achievements, amongst which are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Sent out Sports Contingent to NIPOGA for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Purchased Sporting kits for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Attracted Special Intervention of hundreds of million for the acquisition of Mechanical Engineering Equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Established the International Institute for Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Reorganized the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Education Centre (DEEDs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Procured 14 printers worth millions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Superintend over the Resource Visitation\/Accreditation of 14 new Programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Purchased Theatre Equipment worth tens of millions for the Medical Centre, among several other achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event climaxed with a novelty football match played between the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic, both male and female staff members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The months and years ahead promise to be harvests of monumental achievements considering what has been achieved in this short period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
